Estimate dispatch in late August, 2020
This is a PinePhone Community Edition featuring postmarketOS mobile Linux operating system. It is a limited edition of the PinePhone aimed primarily at PosmarketOS community members. The core purpose of this campaign is to provide hardware capable of running mainline Linux to members of the community so that postmarketOS developers can benefit from feedback and code contributions to their project. The preinstalled postmarketOS software build which ships with this edition of the PinePhone is an Alpha software build. This effectively mean that while core functionality of the PinePhone – such as telephone calls, SMS messages, LTE, GPS, GPU acceleration, etc. – is operational, it is also an ongoing effort, and thus the device cannot be considered as a consumer-ready product.
By purchasing this Community Edition of the PinePhone you support the designated project and its developers; in this edition we donate $10 from each PinePhone sold to postmarketOS.
Due to logistic difficulties following the COVID19 pandemic, which have caused reduce air freight and border closings, the PinePhone can only be shipped on its own – separately from other PINE64 items. This means that presently PinePhone accessories need to be order separately.
Since the PinePhone contains a Lithium-ion battery, its shipment is handled differently from other Pine64 products. For this reason, we don’t allow combining PinePhone pre-orders with other Pine64 product purchases. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Small numbers (1-3) of stuck or dead pixels are a characteristic of LCD screens. This is very rare, but normal and should not be considered a defect. When fulfilling the purchase, please bear in mind that we are offering the PinePhone at this price as a community service to PINE64 and postmarketOS communities. If you think that a minor dissatisfaction, such as a dead pixel, will prompt you to file a PayPal dispute then please do not purchase the PinePhone. Thank you!
